Friedenskirche in Sanssouci Park

The Friedenskirche was built between 1845 and 1854 to plans by Ludwig Persius and August Stüler based on designs by Frederick William IV. The Kammerakademie Potsdam regularly performs in this atmospheric sacred space in Sanssouci Park as part of its Sanssouci Concerts. The Potsdam Winter Opera is also returning to the Friedenskirche Sanssouci for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons due to ongoing renovation work at the Schlosstheater in the Neues Palais — where memorable past productions between 2013 and 2019 included Handel's Israel in Egypt and Theodora as well as Mendelssohn's Elijah.
